Long-tenured executives step up in a planned succession as Bob Wordes retires after 20 years

ATLANTA, GA –– October 14, 2026 – TSCG, the nation’s largest independently owned, retail-only real estate services firm, today announced the promo ons of Susan Ahlheit to Chief Operating Officer and David Huntley to Chief Financial Officer, effective January 1, 2027. Together they bring more than 55 years with the firm and its predecessor to the roles. They succeed Bob Wordes, who will retire at the end of 2026 after two decades with TSCG. Ahlheit and Huntley report to Sam Latone, TSCG’s Co-CEO.
The appointments are the result of a succession plan Wordes developed over the past two years, working closely with Ahlheit throughout and with Huntley intensively in 2026.
Susan Ahlheit joined TSCG in 1995 and worked her way up to Executive Managing Director of Operations and Partner. She has worked alongside Wordes throughout his tenure, and much of the firm’s operating infrastructure already runs through her. As COO, she leads day-to-day operations across the company, including human resources, marketing, information technology, office leases, commission agreements, and referrals. She is a past president of CREW Nashville, a board member of ChainLinks, and an active member of ICSC.
“I’ve had the chance to grow with TSCG for more than three decades,” says Ahlheit, “and to learn from Bob for twenty of those years. The organization we’ve built is strong, and my focus is making sure everyone at TSCG has what they need to serve our clients.”

David Huntley, a Certified Public Accountant, has more than 25 years with TSCG and its predecessor firm and has served as CFO of the firm’s property management business and of TSCG Investors, where he is also Chief Compliance Officer. As CFO of TSCG, he now leads finance for the whole company, including financial reporting, treasury and banking, insurance, and the firm’s stock and valuation programs.
“Having led finance for our property management business and TSCG Investors, I’ve seen firsthand how corporate decisions affect our offices day to day,” says Huntley. “My focus as CFO is to stay close to the people those decisions serve and to build relationships across all 20 of our offices, so our finance function supports everyone doing the work.”
Bob Wordes joined TSCG in 2006 to help lead its growth from a boutique southeastern firm into one with national reach and offices throughout the East Coast. He helped build the firm’s leasing, property management, and investment sales businesses to an institutional standard of service, and with Sam Latone and David Birnbrey, unified seven separate companies operating under The Shopping Center Group name into a single firm. Wordes will remain available to the company into the new year.
“I joined TSCG because David and Sam had a vision, and we’ve spent twenty years building it,” says Wordes. “We built a great business with great people, and I’ve had the distinct privilege to work with my best friends every day. I’m excited for both Susan and David. They are well prepared, and under their direction, nothing our clients or our people rely on will skip a beat.” Bob Wordes

“Bob will be missed, for his contributions to this company and for his friendship,” say Latone and Birnbrey. “We’re grateful for the thoughtful and comprehensive way he developed and executed his succession plan. Susan and David have earned these roles, and they have our complete support.” Ahlheit and Huntley join President Nichole Popovics, named in May 2026, to lead the firm’s brokerage platform on TSCG’s senior leadership team.
