A Japanese discount retailer has plans to bring its first Tennessee location to a Germantown shopping center.
Daiso will occupy an 11,800-square-foot space at the former Tuesday Morning location at 2031 Exeter Road at Germantown Plaza next to the Urban Fusion & Asian Bistro restaurant. The Germantown Plaza shopping center, which is located at the high-traffic intersection of Farmington Boulevard and Exeter Road, has an array of notable retailers anchored by Hobby Lobby and Planet Fitness.
The lease for Daiso was negotiated by Sidney Seale and Shawn Massey of Memphis-based commercial real estate firm The Shopping Center Group.
“Daiso’s decision to open its first Tennessee store at Germantown Plaza highlights the area’s strong retail environment and dynamic community appeal,” Seale said in a news release. “Their presence will enhance the shopping experience and further diversify the retail mix in Germantown.”
Daiso is known for its affordable and high-quality products. The retailer offers a diverse selection of Japanese-inspired home décor, stationery, kitchenware, beauty products, snacks and other items.
Daiso, which was founded in 1977, has more than 6,000 stores worldwide, including over 150 locations in the United States.
