Biography
Ethan Kalchik graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Science, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Economic Geography, and a Minor in Urban Planning. He also has a Master of Science in Cartography & Geographic Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ethan previously worked for a civil engineering firm in Aurora, Illinois, helping them streamline their topographic processes while also working with engineers and land surveyors to create plans for projects ranging from single-family houses to large commercial sites.
Ethan grew up in Lincolnwood, Illinois, which is just outside of Chicago. At Michigan State University, he took a Sports Geography course and then a course in the Geography and Geology of Michigan, and he fell in love with geography. Those courses changed his life and he is excited to add value to the GIS team by using his extensive education and experience. Ethan joined the Miami office in 2026 as a Location Data Analyst.
What To Know
In his time outside of work, Ethan loves doing hot yoga, working out, and going on long walks with his fiancée and their yellow lab, exploring new places around us. He also loves playing board games and card games with his friends and family. Though Ethan was born and raised in Chicago, he roots for all Detroit sports teams. He also roots for his Michigan State Spartans and his Wisconsin Badgers!
