Biography
Since 2003 Alan Shaw has been with The Shopping Center Group (TSCG), where he represents institutional investors, private owners, developers, and family offices in the leasing and merchandising of retail real estate throughout Georgia.
Alan has built a reputation for creating value beyond traditional brokerage. Rather than just filling vacant space, he develops customized leasing strategies that strengthen asset performance, improve merchandising, and maximize long-term property value.
Alan leads a multidisciplinary team of leasing professionals, researchers, GIS specialists, and marketing resources to execute comprehensive leasing programs from initial positioning through lease negotiations and project stabilization. His experience spans grocery-anchored centers, neighborhood and community shopping centers, mixed-use developments, power centers, single-tenant assets, redevelopment opportunities, and land dispositions.
Known for his strategic and analytical approach, Alan works closely with ownership to evaluate market dynamics, tenant demand, site planning, competitive positioning, and merchandising opportunities before pursuing prospective tenants. This truly consultative process allows owners to make better long-term leasing decisions, not simply faster ones.
Throughout his career, Alan has negotiated transactions with national, regional, and local retailers, restaurants, medical users, entertainment concepts, and emerging retail brands. His extensive relationships within the retail real estate industry enable him to connect landlords with tenants that complement both the property and the surrounding community.
Alan served as Co-Chair of the ChainLinks Landlord Council for many years and as a committee member for ICSC.
A lifelong Atlantan and graduate of the University of South Florida, Alan is committed to delivering thoughtful advice, creative solutions, and exceptional execution on every assignment. Give him a call, you’ll see…
