Columbia’s Devine Street Site to Welcome New Grocery Concept

A new grocery concept is set to anchor the redevelopment of Columbia’s former “Social Pig” Piggly Wiggly site on Devine Street. Sprouts Farmers Market will serve as the lead tenant at Devine Crossing, a project by Cason Development at 3818 Devine St., where a longtime Piggly Wiggly closed in early 2025.

The location – at the corner of Devine Street and Kilbourne Road – sits within one of Columbia’s most established neighborhoods and sees strong daily traffic. The store, expected to open in 2027, will mark Sprouts’ first entry into the Columbia market.

In addition to the grocer, the development will include approximately 15,000 square feet of additional retail or mixed-use space, with leasing handled by TSCG. Plans for the remaining space may include a restaurant and other retailers.

Once complete, Devine Crossing is expected to bring a fresh retail mix to a well-known neighborhood site while introducing a new grocery option to the market.

The leasing of this property will be handled by Jeff Yurfest & Tyler Freeman of TSCG.

“We are proud to be a part of the transformation of this neighborhood staple in Columbia,” TSCG Vice President Jack Brennan said in the release. “This will be a great legacy for the community, and one we believe in.”
