A Burlington store is going into the former Toys “R” Us space at Silas Creek Crossing off Silas Creek Parkway and Hanes Mall Boulevard in Winston-Salem.

Burlington is a national off-price retailer. Its departments include women’s dresses, suits, sportswear, juniors, accessories, menswear, family footwear and children’s clothing, according to Burlington’s website.

The retailer also sells an assortment of furniture and accessories for babies at Baby Depot, home décor and gifts, along with a large selection of coats.

Burlington has more than 600 stores. Two of those stores are in the Triad. One is at 7770 North Point Blvd. in Winston-Salem and the other is at 3022 High Point Road in Greensboro.

Zaremba Group, the owner of Silas Creek Crossing, acquired the 45,000-square-foot storefront at the Toys R Us auction in August following the closing of the toy store chain in late July.

Darrell Palasciano and Matt Henry, leasing advisers for The Shopping Center Group, finalized the lease in January.

Silas Creek Crossing is currently 90 percent leased. It has one outparcel and just over 13,000 square feet of small shop space available.

“We are confident that Burlington will do exceptionally well in this high-profile, super-regional position across the street from the 1.5 million-square foot Hanes Mall,” Palasciano said in a press release.

“There was significant interest in this prime retail storefront from several tenant categories including soft goods retail, fitness, medical and furniture — validating the strength of this market and site.”

Burlington could not be reached for comment.
