Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) is the first tenant to land at Allston in Rock Hill.
Warren Norman Co. is investing $6.5 million into 8,825 square feet of retail space in the mixed-used project. That building sits on 3 acres.
The Allston project includes 97 townhomes, with plans for retail and services along Herlong Road.
Chipotle has taken 2,325 square feet in the southwest corner of the development. It is currently under construction, with an early 2024 opening targeted.
This marks Chipotle’s second location in Rock Hill.
The Colorado-based chain specializes in bowls, tacos and burritos that are made to order in front of the customer.
Chipotle owned and operated over 3,250 restaurants in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, France and Germany as of June 20. That includes approximately 25 locations in the Charlotte market.
Warren Norman and Andrea Walters, with Warren Norman Co., represented the landlord. Andy Misiaveg with The Shopping Center Group represented Chipotle.
Norman says the neighborhood retail center is looking to attract an additional restaurant and retail or an office tenant for the remaining space.
The firm is also behind the Perch in Rock Hill. That $14 million project encompasses 28,000 square feet, including a new two-story, 23,000-square-foot building and the renovation of the former Coca-Cola Bottling Co. facility.
It also has plans for another commercial project in Rock Hill. It would be 30,500 square feet across multiple buildings.
