TSCG’s Molly Prince Sarn Represents Landlord in Kura Sushi’s First North Carolina Location

TSCG recently represented the landlord in securing Kura Sushi USA’s first North Carolina location at Stonecrest at Piper Glen in South Charlotte.

Molly Prince Sarn, vice president with TSCG, represented the ownership of Stonecrest in the lease transaction for the approximately 3,100-square-foot restaurant at 7804 Rea Road, Suite A. Kura Sushi was represented by Margot Bizon and Lindsay Stafford of JLL.

The new restaurant marks Kura Sushi’s debut in North Carolina and reflects the brand’s continued expansion across the Southeast. According to Robert Kluger, chief development officer for Kura Sushi USA, Charlotte had long been a target market for the company, with Stonecrest providing the right opportunity to establish its first location in the state.

“Charlotte has been a target for Kura’s development for quite some time,” Kluger said. He added that the city’s sophisticated consumer base aligns well with Kura Sushi’s customer profile.

The company is already pursuing a second North Carolina location, signaling continued investment in the market following its Charlotte opening.

Kura Sushi’s newest restaurant introduces the brand’s signature revolving sushi dining experience to the Charlotte market. Guests select from more than 100 sushi offerings delivered via a two-tier conveyor belt system, while select menu items, including noodle dishes, appetizers and desserts are ordered through touch-screen panels and delivered on an express belt. The restaurant also features Kura’s interactive Bikkura Pon prize system, which rewards diners with randomized capsule prizes after returning a designated number of plates.

Kura Sushi USA operates more than 90 restaurants across 23 states and Washington, D.C., and is the largest revolving sushi restaurant brand in the United States. The company is a subsidiary of Japan-based Kura Sushi Inc., which operates more than 600 restaurants worldwide.

The Charlotte restaurant is open daily at Stonecrest at Piper Glen, further strengthening the center’s lineup of dining and retail offerings.
