Biography

David Birnbrey is the Chairman and co-CEO of TSCG, where he oversees the company’s tenant representation practice, marketing, and training efforts. He began his real estate career in industrial sales and leasing with I.J. Kapplin and joined TSCG in 1984. A graduate of the University of Georgia’s Henry Grady School of Journalism, David is active in ICSC, Chainlinks Retail Network, and the ULI CRC Gold Council. He is also passionate about mentoring and training, both in and outside the real estate industry, and frequently speaks at industry events nationwide.

What To Know
David is the proud father of three grown children and the self-proclaimed "most annoying" yet award-winning grandfather to nine. He serves as a Governor-appointed Georgia State Holocaust Commissioner and is deeply engaged in numerous charitable activities. In his spare time, David can often be found enthusiastically cheering from the sidelines at little league baseball, basketball, soccer, and dance events.

Favorite Retail Store as a Child
For many years, probably up to the age of about 10, David eagerly looked forward to an allowance of twenty-five cents. Upon receipt of this money, he would hop on his bike and ride to Ben Franklin's 5 and 10 cent store where he spent a nickel on a candy bar, another nickel on a pack of baseball cards and 15 cents on what was called "penny candy," usually licorice sticks. To this day, licorice is still his favorite candy. True story!
